Star Wars: 20 Worst Franchise Moments (So Far)
7. Solo's Awful Finale
Film: Solo: A Star Wars Story
Solo is disappointing throughout, but the finale is easily the worst part and the scene which confirms Solo as being worse than The Phantom Menace.
The film's finale barely even qualifies as one: there's very little action or suspense. All it is a tension-free sequence involving the Paul Bettany's woeful villain being defeated and prevented from getting some fuel.
With the lack of action, humor and charm that hangs over Solo, in stark contrast to every other Star Wars finale to date this entire sequence is extremely dull. Worst of all, Donald Glover's delightful Lando Calrissian and Darth Maul aren't present, so the two best things in the movie aren't around.
As well as this, both Qi'ra and Woody Harrelson's Tobias Beckett betray Han in an utterly meaningless manner, which leads to a painfully anticlimactic showdown with Tobias. Thanks to all these betrayals and the generally under-cooked feel, this is not only bland but feels like a total mess, no doubt thanks to the film's troubled production.
