Star Wars: 20 Worst Franchise Moments (So Far)
3. "I Don't Like Sand"
Film: Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
"I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything is soft and smooth."
A moment so awful it's actually infamous, Anakin's monologue about sand is the epitome of a cringe-worthy movie scene.
It's a terrible piece of dialogue and while Christensen's line delivery is ghastly, in this case no one can blame him for messing up so badly. After all, even the world's greatest actor would struggle to deliver such a meaningless, clunky and awkward bit of dialogue which doesn't even connect to the scene in particular.
There's no question that this is one of the worst movie monologues in history, but the awfulness doesn't end there. Anakin caressing Padme's back and his seriously creepy facial expression makes what should've been a stirring and romantic first kiss more uncomfortable than anything else.
