Star Wars: 9 Things About The Last Jedi That Make No Sense

Laura Dern's Admiral Amilyn Holdo stole the show in The Last Jedi when she ploughed her ship into Snoke's craft at light speed, ripping the thing in half. Although there was heroic method to this madness, her decision to keep her fellow Resistance fighters in the dark about her plan only created more problems than it solved.

Holdo played dumb when she took the reins of the rebellion from General Leia, ordering her charges to flee from the First Order even though their ships were low on fuel. On paper it sounds like a suicide mission.

Nobody can blame Poe Dameron for his mutiny at this point, but when he sends Rose and Finn to disable the First Order tracker, a number of people are killed. These lives could have been spared if Holdo had revealed her plan from the beginning.

Granted, having Dern's character look incompetent tricked the audience into believing she was a threat, but it made no sense for her to deceive her comrades. This simply invited opposition and jeopardised everything.

She never fully trusted Poe - as proven by the fact she upholds his unfair demotion - but he wasn't the only one who had the wool pulled over his eyes.

Holdo may have feared that her charges would stand in the way of her act of sacrifice if she let them in on the plan, but she could have at least come up with a better ruse. That way, nobody would have resisted her and lives might have been saved.
