3. Explain What Happened During The Clone Wars

The video games, novels, animated series and the current Clone Wars TV show have cleared this up for most, kids especially. However on screen this is a vague event in the Star Wars timeline. There is little actual footage of this outside of the aftermath of Order 66 in Revenge of the Sith and the Battle of Geonosis in Attack of the Clones. However it is apparently a still big deal. Obi-Wan talks about it in A New Hope, as does Leia but it is never presented as such. It is still an afterthought in the films. SWEU fans know that this was a trying time for all. In this crucible Anakin was fundamental changed. His path to his fall was laid and he was lead further and further into hate and violence. This idea was picked up by the writers of KOTOR with the Revan arc and developed. We were shown pieces of the war with the Mandalorian hordes during the games, and it effected the characters of that world. It felt real. The Clone Wars not so much. In ROTS there is no "war time" feel on Coruscant; people go to operas for example. You would think that the hub of the Republic's power would be locked down during a time of war. Or even a restriction would be placed on mass entertainment. Episode 7 can work in these elements within their timeline. The beginning of the second Civil War, if it is shown, will need a historical punch.
