2. Talk About Finding New Jedi
The world of the new films will be set around the time of the New Republic. This will require some answers to the following questions: how did we get here? Why is Luke a Jedi Master? And why is all of this important? A simply way to achieve of all of this is the follow Luke as a secondary character. The audience can watch him found the Jedi Academy on Yavin 4, and train the first recruits while the solos are still children. Or again, as a flashback. The pay off on this will be great. Yavin 4 is a central plot device in the SWEU, and can be as this in all of the new Skywalker saga films. I am not looking for everything to be answered all at once, but some references here and there would be nice. This will allow everyone to follow and care about this brave new Star Wars world. Elements can be taken from the Exar Kun conflict, I, Jedi, Dark Forces. All can be hinted but explained, and still left open for a Marvel style tie-in.
