Star Wars: Episode 8 - 10 Major Twists That Could Shake The Galaxy

1. Snoke's Identity Revealed

To appropriate the words of Winston Churchill, Andy Serkis€™ Supreme Leader Snoke is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma. Fans don€™t even know if he€™s normal-sized or as massive as his hologram. On top of that, the identity of whoever smashed his head in is anyone€™s guess. There€™s hope in the air, though, that Rian Johnson will furnish fans with an answer during Star Wars: Episode VIII via some sort of big twisty reveal.

The most common theory about Snoke is that he€™s actually Darth Plagueis The Wise, an old Sith Lord that was said to have been killed in his sleep (hence the head scar) by his last pupil (implied to be Darth Sidious). The theory goes that he somehow survived using the Dark Side of the Force and returned once Sidious was dead to try and claim the galaxy as his own. This would not only be a twist, but it would also serve to link up the new trilogy to the old ones.

This isn€™t the only theory, though €“ some people think Snoke actually is Sidious, and that the evil Emperor somehow survived the events of Return Of The Jedi (possibly using a clone body). A few also believe that Snoke is Vader, while a recent Reddit theory even posited that Snoke could a former youngling that survived Order 66 and turned bad.

Of all of those, the Plagueis theory is still my personal favourite, but there aren€™t enough clues in Star Wars: The Force Awakens to offer any sort of certainty. He could be any of those characters, or none of them, but hopefully fans will find out when Episode VIII hits cinemas in December 2017.

Which big twist are you hoping to see in Episode VIII? Let us know in the comments€
