Star Wars Episode 8: 10 Predictions You Need To Know
5. Ewan McGregor Will Make A Cameo
Ewan McGregor and Alec Guinness already lent their voices to Rey's vision in The Force Awakens. It was established decades ago that Old Ben Kenobi became a Force Ghost. And it's blatantly obvious that Luke Skywalker is in need of some spiritual guidance right now. Put simply, all signs point to an Obi-Wan cameo in Episode VIII.
George Lucas even made it clear in his Return Of The Jedi special edition that Force Ghosts can look like the dead person's younger self, paving the way for Ewan McGregor to reprise his role from the prequels in a blue-tinged ethereal capacity without enticing too much outcry of "shouldn't he look like Alec Guinness by now?" Heck, if they really wanted to, they could give McGregor grey hair and ask him to add a slight warbling quality to his voice.
Respected Entertainment Weekly journalist Anthony Breznican said a few months ago that he'd "heard rumors that the one reason they haven’t moved sooner on [an] Obi-Wan [spin-off film] is that they’re not done with Obi-Wan quite yet in the saga films." Could those rumblings he heard be linked to an Episode VIII cameo for Mr McGregor? Fingers are crossed; he deserves to be in a decent Star Wars film.
