6. Snoke Returns

Ever since Supreme Leader Snoke was killed off in The Last Jedi, there's been speculation as to how he might return in Episode IX. Snoke was a figure created by J.J. Abrams and, since the director's return, there's been chatter that he might have plans for him after all.

While Snoke's story really should be done, that isn't going to stop the theories and rumours regarding how he'll come back. Those rumours received a great boost last year when Andy Serkis cancelled a convention appearance for scheduling conflicts, with the assumption being that he was filming scenes for Episode IX.

The most common theory is based around Snoke returning as some kind of spin on a Force Ghost, but channelled through the Dark Side, like this one from Redditor Raph_B011 as one example, with a number of hypotheses surrounding his mysterious obsidian ring and the powers it might hold. There are also theories surrounding Snoke's true nature, such as the Plagueis theory that (somewhat fittingly, for the character) refuses to die, or even the idea that Snoke was a projection unwittingly created by Kylo Ren.
