7. The Tone HASN'T Changed
Despite all of the concerns about the highly publicised reshoots, it doesn't look like Gareth Edwards has had to compromise on his overall tone.
Even though this second trailer has a more definitively familiar Star Wars feel to it, it is definitely still a traditional war film as well. This is no space opera.
It's no bad thing to see the more traditional elements brought in (fan service goes a long way), but the core story is still going to be ominously over-shadowed by a very tangible sense of doom. And that's precisely what the Imperial March theme sells perfectly.
