Star Wars: Rogue One Trailer - 9 Things The Teaser Didn't Show

In Star Wars lore, Alderaan is most famous for the fact that it was blown to smithereens by the Death Star - from the films alone, we don't know a whole lot about this planet, save for the fact that - according to Princess Leia - it's "peaceful" and "has no weapons."

Yes, we were afforded a brief glimpse of the surface in Revenge of the Sith, when Bail Organa adopted Leia and took her back to his lush, green home planet, but it wasn't a particularly candid look.

It stands to reason, however, that Rogue One will take place - in some part - on Alderaan, given that it's Princess Leia's home planet and - more than likely - an important location for the Rebellion Alliance. You can't tell that from the teaser, however, given that Alderaan appears to be entirely absent from the footage - and the same goes for Bail Organa.

I think it'd be interesting for Rogue One to give us a better look at this iconic planet, given that it has never been explored in as much detail as it deserves; doing so could also lend a lot more weight to the fact that it's destroyed in Episode IV - a rare case where filling in some Star Wars backstory could actually pay off.

As for Bail Organa, who doesn't want to know more about this character? Whether he'll appear in Rogue One at all is anybody's guess (Jimmy Smitt, who played him in Episode III, wasn't asked to return), but there are lots of actors whose parts are yet to be revealed - it's certainly possible.
