14. The Kessel Run In 14 Parsecs
TWELVE! The film has a number of nostalgic gags poking affectionate fun at the previous six films. As well as Rey's astonishment that she's on the actual Millennium Falcon which did the 14 parsecs (to Han's dismay), there are also nods back to the clone army and one key sequence from the original trilogy. First, when General Hux and Kylo Ren answer to Supreme Leader Snoke about Finn escaping, Kylo Ren makes a barbed comment about clones being better than repurposed humans. Except in terms of their shooting ability, obviously. And the way Han, Finn and Chewie deal with Captain Phasma has tongue in cheek all over it, particularly the gleam in Solo's eye when he asks whether the base has a trash compactor...
