1. A Brand New Type Of Story Not Seen In Star Wars Before
This could be a golden opportunity for Star Wars to do something entirely different to what fans have seen up until this point.
The latest trilogy has its moments, but it has shown that the formula for the previous films cannot, and should not be repeated again.
So moving forward (or in this case, backwards), with the galaxy far, far away, is an opportunity to create a new saga which will have a completely different focus to the original, and no one will hear the name Skywalker mentioned once.
Star Wars' return was something that every single fan had reason to look forward to, but what was fundamentally missing in the recent trilogy - for the most part - were fresh elements.
The High Republic simply has to be a different story to the one we have seen up until now.
