Star Wars: The High Republic - 10 Things The New Saga Must Include
3. Show How The Sith Remained Hidden Throughout The High Republic
There are more than a few people who have been perplexed as to how, at the time of The Phantom Menace, there had been no single inkling, nor the merest hint of a presence in the Force that hadn't led the Jedi to discover the Sith were still alive, at any point, in the thousand-year peace that occurred after the foundation of the Republic.
There have been plenty of theories, and even the occasional novel or comic set during the period, but no definitive answers other than the Sith were the all-time champions at hide-and-seek.
The Star Wars galaxy is a made up of millions of worlds, and there is the possibility the Sith could have fled beyond its outer-rim to avoid the Jedi for centuries, but they still would have had to return at some point or the whole saga would never have occurred, so how did no Jedi sense their presence?
There is an opportunity for the High Republic to answer these questions and fill this slightly gaping plot-hole, and the Sith don't even necessarily have to feature too prominently if the filmmakers are wanting to avoid links back to the original saga and branch out in a new direction.
