11. Rey Is No-One

After two years of speculation and many, many theories concerning Rey's true parentage, it turns out that the obsessive rumour-mongering was all completely wrong. Rey's parents were no more than lowly junkers who now lie in paupers' graves on Jakku having sold their daughter into slavery.

Ultimately, it's a great choice and a far more poignant revelation than any of the speculated alternatives. Sure, others might have also made sense, but the idea of a Chosen One being of such low stock has a sort of poetic significance. But that doesn't make it any more shocking when it happens.
