The Information: With a movie as secretive as The Last Jedi has been, one of the biggest ways information leaks out is through tie-in merchandise - toys, books, comics, etc.

The Last Jedi's received a ton of merchandise already, from LEGO sets to vitamin drinks (seriously), and more recently, a "Look & Find" Star Wars book debuted, which provided us with some information on how the film will open. This book is an official Disney branded product, so can be considered accurate.

Among this information is the nugget that Poe and BB-8 are taking part in a space battle over D'Qar, the location of the Resistance base. Here's a quote taken directly from the book...

Meanwhile, Poe is busy doing some persuading of his own. He and BB-8 are making runs through the First Order’s latest assault fleet to clear the way for the Resistance bomber squadron, headed by ace pilot Paige. BB-8 will keep the coordinates straight. You look out for these First Order ships…

Since the book only covers information from The Last Jedi's early scenes, we now know that this battle will occur very early on - possibly inside the first ten minutes.

Why It's A Spoiler: We've heard many times that The Last Jedi will pick up right where The Force Awakens Left off, showing us Rey's very first conversation with Luke Skywalker.

And now, we know what this scene will cut to.

It's a trivial detail, but this reveal spoils what the film's first battle sequence will be. This also reveals that The First Order are still strong enough to muster a fleet of ships, sending them to attack the Resistance very soon after the destruction of Starkiller Base.

The book also mentions that Poe is "busy doing some persuading". Who is he persuading, and why? Is he persuading Leia to send more ships into battle? Is he persuading The First Order to call off the attack?

This battle will be far from a simple, cheaply inserted thrill. There's a lot going on here and Poe is at the centre of it.
