Star Wars: The Last Jedi - Every Deleted Scene Ranked From Worst To Best

1. Phasma Squealed Like A Whoop Hog

The only badass moment the totally badass-looking Captain Phasma gets in both movies, and Johnson chose to cut it? No. Just no.

Here, Finn is calling out Phasma for the way she just gave in and lowered the shields on Starkiller Base - which led to the destruction of the entire planet - in The Force Awakens.

Her response? Gun down every single Stormtrooper who heard what Finn had to say. Phasma definitely looks ruthless and intimidating, but she never got a chance to show it until this moment, which makes it crazy to think that it was cut.

Also, The Last Jedi is frustratingly light on connective tissue with The Force Awakens - a small moment like this would have made that issue feel less prevalent.

The scene is nowhere near finished and it ends in the same way as the theatrical cut (Finn gets the jump on her and knocks her to her death) but it would have been far more satisfying than what we actually got.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for over ten years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
