Star Wars: The Last Jedi - Power-Ranking Every Character

1. Luke Skywalker

For a while there, it looked a lot like Luke Skywalker was going to be the real Chosen One, but The Force Awakens clearly showed that balance hadn't truly been restored, so either he's not or the interpretation of what the Chosen One is supposed to DO is wrong. Evidently, Luke believes it's the latter, if he's intent on endign the Jedi.

Still, Chosen One or not, Luke is still the most powerful and capable character in the galaxy - which is precisely why he was the MacGuffin in the first movie, and why Rey is turning to him for training (and validation). Snoke would give him a good battle no doubt, but Luke was running a Jedi school single-handedly and was basically gifted enough to not require anything like the full Jedi training to realise his potential.

Plus, he was able to (somehow) avoid the pitfall of tumbling down the rabbithole to the Dark Side even despite turning his back on that training, which marks him out as special in itself.

Quite what his true status is in The Last Jedi remains to be seen, but he's still a worthy MVP.
