Steven Spielberg: EVERY Movie Ranked Worst To Best

21. The BFG (2016)

ET The Extra Terrestrial
Disney

Since the 70s, Spielberg has thrived in the realm of making family blockbusters, and his adaptation of Roald Dahl's The BFG shows just how good he is at creating a wonderous adventure for younger audiences.

With a stunning motion capture performance from Mark Rylance as the eponymous Big Friendly Giant, the film's focus on Sophie (Ruby Barnhill) and her relationship with the giant is where the film is at its strongest, though there are moments - primarily found in the dream-catching sequences - where the movie loses its momentum slightly.

Still, it's a sweet little adventure film that hits the right notes as a family blockbuster.
