Suicide Squad 2: 10 Insanely Dark Moments That Won't Be Used

2. Creepy Exploding Robot Babies

The phrase ‘creepy exploding robot babies’ is probably the single most unnerving concept you can introduce to a comic. This is doubly true when it’s initially not shown that the children are robots – so for a good page or two of this particular story, you think you’ve actually witnessed a gruesome toddler death.

Needless to say, although the discovery that the kids are robots makes it slightly less awful, the fact they still look like children is sure to wring some goosebumps from you when you least expect it.

While the cartoon-y style of the 2001 series generally serves to make it less frightening, there’s something about cartoon exploding kids that feels much darker – like some sort of messed up episode of the Looney Tunes.
