Suicide Squad: 6 Major Spoilers Jared Leto May Have Revealed About His Joker

5. He'll Be A Physical Threat To Batman

Over the years, The Joker has been portrayed either as being only just able to hold his own when fighting Batman or as a villain who relies on gadgets and henchmen to fight his battles for him. In The Dark Knight Returns, the Clown Prince of Crime was quite a bit bulkier than the skinny version fans had been used to seeing up until that point, leading to rumours swirling about Leto's Joker being a more imposing presence in Suicide Squad (he'll apparently be shown working out in his cell), something the actor confirmed with the image you see above. The first official photo of The Joker depicted him without a shirt too, so it's clear that this ripped version of the Clown Prince of Crime won't be spending the entirety of the movie covering up his impressive physique. After all, they're going to want to show off those controversial tattoos of his! Why does this matter? Well, with set photos and the Comic-Con trailer confirming that Batman goes after The Joker and Harley Quinn, there's every chance we could see a full on fight between the two in this movie. If not, it will no doubt happen somewhere a little further down the line (possibly in the standalone Batman movie Ben Affleck is writing and directing). Either way, it's clear that this is a Joker who will be a much bigger threat from a physical standpoint than the versions played by Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger. It's a shame really that neither Leto nor the studio have kept his impressive physique a secret, as it would have been quite the surprise for us all to go in thinking that he wouldn't be a threat to the Caped Crusader, only for it to be revealed that The Joker is more than capable of taking it to Batman in a fist fight. Regardless, seeing how this take on the iconic villain handles himself still promises to be very interesting indeed.
