Suicide Squad: 6 Major Spoilers Jared Leto May Have Revealed About His Joker

4. He Created Harley Quinn

This is more the studio's fault that Jared Leto's, but it's still a major spoiler and one which has so proven to be very controversial among comic book fans. Upon taking a closer look at the Comic-Con trailer for Suicide Squad, it becomes apparent the person that The Joker is threatening to hurt at the end of the preview is in fact Dr. Harleen Quinzel, the woman who becomes Harley Quinn. Unlike in the comics though, she won't be doing so because she's devoted to the Clown Prince of Crime. Instead, the villain - who can be seen using a device associated with electroconvulsive therapy - is going to essentially torture and brainwash Harleen into becoming Harley. Then, he'll use his tattoo gun to brand the Arkham Asylum psychiatrist, making the relationship between these two even more twisted and disturbing than it is in the comic books (now do you see why it's been so controversial?). Harley being a victim of abuse was also clear from set photos showing The Joker beating her, while Leto himself has also alluded to this by sending her a love letter which was accompanied by a rat and hog carcass to Margot Robbie. Even off camera, the method actor clearly wants to keep some tension in their relationship. It's going to be a very interesting and strange dynamic to see play out on the big screen, that's for sure.
