Suicide Squad: 9 Deleted Scenes That Would Have Definitely Improved The Film

1. Joker's Escape

The Deleted Scene: During the final battle, the Joker turns up at the subway station and confronts the Squad. Despite honour amongst thieves, they don't really get on; after Harley refuses his command to go with him (she's bonded with the rest of the gang in the past three hours and is a bit peeved about the whole "attempted murder" thing), he throws a grenade and slinks off (the "bye bye" moment from the trailer).

Why It Would Have Improved The Film: The Joker's random disappearance for the final act is one of the film's most inexplicable decisions, a lazy problem brought about by bad editing that stings all the way through to the final scene. Even if this moment didn't explain how he survived (I mean, I hope it would, but the movie has a bad helicopter crash track record), it establishes he's alive and furthers that conflicted Harley/Joker relationship.

So, Why Was It Cut? No bloody good reason for this - this should have been in the film. The decision was likely made on a more macro level; Warner wanted to make the Joker less intense, and to do that they needed to remove any any scene where he and Harley are at odds, which in turn meant exorcising this entire subplot detailing their less than harmonious interplay we've seen over the previous entries.

Which other scenes deleted from Suicide Squad do you wish made it into the finished film? Were there any you're glad remained on the cutting room floor? Discuss what might have been down in the comments.
