Suicide Squad: 9 Things We Just Learned From The Big Villain
1. On Working With David Ayer (And Jared Leto)
I also asked Alain what it was like to work with David Ayer - whose methods were a big part of the pre-release marketing campaign:
"I was a big fan of his way before I ever auditioned for him. End Of Watch is one of my favourite films. He directs films with real characters - dark and gritty - and he's also very down to earth, a real dude, not fake, no small talk. I like the guy."
And what about the now infamous on-set behaviour of Jared Leto? What was it like on-set when he was around, given the fact that he was? Are the stories of his creepy behaviour true?
"I did not see him often but… Let's say that we you deliver a character like that, you're allowed to be a little crazy, cause it's all worth it."
So struck with Leto's performance was Alain that he actually came to work one day just to watch him work. It definitely feels like that sort of performance.
So what's next for Alain now that Suicide Squad is out of the way?
"I'm working on a amazing film right now, unfortunately I can't talk about it but I'm really excited to work with these people who are also amazing actors."
