SXSW 2022: 20 Movies You Need To Know About
4. It Is In Us All
Probably the most A24-like film to premiere at SXSW that isn't actually produced or distributed by them, It Is In Us All is a gorgeous, deeply atmospheric, and intensely unnerving drama about a man, Hamish (Cosmo Jarvis), whose life is turned upside down following a brutal car crash.
It's best to let audiences discover the particulars of Antonia Campbell-Hughes' story for themselves, but this is an often mesmerising drama about a man reckoning with both his own family history and the psychological fallout of an accident that claimed the life of another.
Cosmo Jarvis is fantastic in the lead role, bringing intrigue and ambiguity to even the film's quietest moments. While at times looking and sounding like a horror film, It Is In Us All is ultimately far more concerned with the ways in which people torture themselves.
It Is In Us All is currently seeking distribution.
