Sylvester Stallone's 15 Biggest Movies - Ranked Worst To Best
12. The Specialist (1994)
Stallone and Stone: with names that sound that similar, it was almost inevitable they'd work together at some point - casting directors can't miss a good joke. Of course, beyond their similar sounding names, they were both icons of similar stature by 1994; but where he was the 80s action icon, she was the 90s sultry sex bomb. Putting them together meant making a movie that was a little bit of both, which ipso facto meant Stallone had to get a bit sexy. And it's fair to say, this isn't exactly his forte. Though it's largely played straight, there's just no escaping how ridiculously silly The Specialist is, from Stallone's casting as a bomb maker with a conscience, to his soft-focus love scenes with Stone, to the jaw-droppingly over-the-top bad guy performance from James Woods. All that being said, there's no denying The Specialist is good for a few laughs - and with a global box office haul of $170.4 million, it's Stallone's 11th biggest hit.
