Sylvester Stallone's 15 Biggest Movies - Ranked Worst To Best

11. The Expendables (2010)

It should have been so great. Coming off the one-two punch success of Rocky Balboa and Rambo, Stallone put together what looked to be the greatest ensemble in action history, for what promised to be the most epic macho man movie in years. Sadly, the results were passable at best. Global box office takings of $274.5 million were enough to make it Stallone's 4th biggest film ever, but there's no denying that many fans considered The Expendables a major let down. Possibly Stallone was spreading himself a bit thin, what with co-writing and directing, as well as taking the lead as chief Expendable Barney Ross. What should have been a huge, adrenaline-charged spectacle wound up feeling flat, slow and a bit of a mess. There are a few good action scenes in there as you'd expect, but none of them quite enough to make it work.
