Terminator 5: 10 Ways To Make The New Trilogy Work

1. Character Cameos

Terminator 2 As long as this can be done without being excessive, it would be nice to see some character cameos in these new films. Though Kyle Reese himself, Michael Biehn, has sworn off appearing in any Terminator sequels, it'd be great to see him in a flashback, being sent through time to 1984 (though they'd need some serious make-up skills to pass him off as 30 years younger...) Similarly, seeing Sarah Connor in the throes of her cancer, living out her last months with John would be interesting (Linda Hamilton's advanced age could be covered up by the cancer), and given her involvement with Salvation (in voice cameo form), this is a far more likely possibility. While the new franchise must establish its own identity, a few scenes devoted to these beloved characters wouldn't go amiss, as long as they don't simply make us pine for the first two films.
