Terminator 5: 10 Ways To Make The New Trilogy Work

3. James Cameron Consults On The Script

James Cameron James Cameron is, of course, the genius mastermind behind the first two Terminator movies, acting as both writer and director, and earning considerable acclaim for doing so. He has received just a cursory character credit for the latter two Terminator films, and has frequently sworn off any further involvement in them. What the producers of T5 need to do - and I have no idea how they would go about this short of blackmailing him - is get Cameron on board as a story consultant, to help iron out the inevitable issues that are going to arise. If Cameron was simply an uncredited "script doctor", then he would be able to hold his hands up and disavow himself of any responsibility if the film turns out to be rubbish, and if not, then we know we're in safe hands with Cameron nurturing the franchise. Given the director's methodical process and the fact that he's got Avatar sequels keeping him busy from now until the grave, we doubt this one will be happening any time soon...
