Really, the biggest plot spoiler for Terminator: Genisys that this announcement has revealed is just how big a change fans are going to see to Sarah Connor's life. The original timeline featured Linda Hamilton's beleaguered single woman hunted by a killer robot for reasons she didn't understand, which (unsurprisingly) had a detrimental effect on her mental health and had her confined to a mental institute for the rest of her life. At least she got the chance to get buff and prevent the nightmarish future that plagued her every waking moment before getting chucked straight back in the loony bin. The end of Sarah's journey was a bittersweet one in Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines, so perhaps giving her a second shot at redemption will be good. Apparently this new Sarah Connor "isn't the innocent she was when Linda Hamilton first sported feathered hair and acid-washed jeans in the role. Nor is she Hamilton's steely zero body-fat warrior in 1991's T2." What will she be? Besides socially awkward and a total badass, from the sounds of it, she'll be an entirely new character. Perhaps one on which to hang a whole new franchise, for example.
