The Avengers Vs. Avengers: Infinity War - Which Is Better?
6. Music
It's a frequent criticism of the MCU that too many of the movies don't have memorable musical cues, but at least that can't be said about The Avengers. Bringing the legendary Alan Silvestri onboard was a terrific idea, and much like his work on Captain America: The First Avenger, he brings a refreshingly old-school bombast to the mix.
The movie introduced the now-iconic Avengers theme, which is enough to make the musical score an absolute winner.
Infinity War's score was also composed by Silvestri, and while the movie makes occasional re-use of the Avengers theme, there are numerous memorable orchestral cues elsewhere, especially when Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) destroys Vision (Paul Bettany) set to "I Feel You", and the subdued, haunting string piece that plays out in Thanos final moment of quiet celebration ("Porch").
Winner: They're both great scores, and Infinity War owes an undeniable debt to The Avengers, but it's also allowed to go to some more interesting places due to the movie's darker tenor. Either way, Silvestri nailed it, and thankfully he's returning for Avengers 4.
