The Best Moment Of Every James Bond Film - Ranked
16. Moonraker: Skydiving
This one comes right at the beginning of Moonraker. Moonraker fails because it focuses far too much on silly comedy and fails to craft any truly heart-pumping action sequences, but this pre-title set-piece is an exception.
This fight scene takes place during a sky-dive and Bond, who jumps out of a plane without a parachute, has to get the parachute from a bad guy... in mid-air. It's an absolute blast to watch and it's very well-filmed too.
Also, Jaws (Richard Kiel) is involved and that always makes a set-piece better - as in, before he's turned into a joke later on in the film.
Unfortunately, aside from this scene, a rather good set-piece where Bond is nearly killed in a centrifuge simulator and that hilarious "Attempting re-entry" gag in the film's final scene, Moonraker is a colossal bore.
