The Best Moment Of Every James Bond Film - Ranked

17. The World Is Not Enough: Torture Scene

Daniel Craig Casino Royale
Eon

Before Casino Royale, there was another great James Bond torture scene.

In this one, Bond is strapped to a chair which is designed to break his neck by main villain Elektra King (Sophie Marceau) while she taunts and slowly kills him. It's very well-written indeed and this brilliant villain's tormenting of Bond makes for a very tense and psychologically intriguing scene. Marceau's performance is great too and this moment confirms Elektra King as one of the best villains in Bond history.

It also ends with a lovely send-off for Valentin Zukovsky (a joyous pre-Harry Potter Robbie Coltrane), an awesome and hilarious character who's one of the very best Bond sidekicks ever. He frees Bond from the chair in his dying moments and goes out on a high.
