The Single Biggest Mistake Every James Bond Film Has Made
6. The World Is Not Enough: Dr Christmas Jones
Like its predecessor, this is a very underrated Bond film.
Admittedly, it's convoluted and the action sequences, while mostly very solid, occasionally lack a little but this is still a good entry in the franchise. It's got great villains, plenty of thrills and an interesting, pleasingly dark plot. Still, in fairness to the nay-sayers, it's easy to see why some people found this movie pretty insufferable: it's probably because of this terrible Bond Girl.
For many, the film likely took a nose-dive as soon as this character, Dr Christmas Jones (Denise Richards), arrived. Richards' performance is terrible, she has no chemistry with anyone else, the character is badly-written and she lacks the slightest bit of credibility as a nuclear scientist.
In general, she's one of the very worst Bond Girls in the franchise's history and her name leads to some beyond-awful one liners. In particular, this joke from the film's ending sex scene between her and Bond:
Bond: "I was wrong about you. I thought Christmas only comes once a year."
