7. Recycling Previous Villains

There will unquestionably be the temptation for Marvel and Sony to recycle some of the more iconic villains that Spidey has faced off against so far, namely Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Venom and Sandman. While it's understandable that previous villains will be appearing again in order to set up the Sinister Six movie, hopefully The Spectacular Spider-Man will largely feature villains who haven't been given the big-screen treatment before, like, say, Carnage or Vulture. Spidey has such an impressive roster of enemies to draw from that it'd be a shame if the new film just stuck to what's been tried and tested rather than pushing the boat out with something a little more daring and challenging. Does anybody really want to see previous plot arcs just rehashed again, much like how the origin story was lazily copied for The Amazing Spider-Man?
