The Suicide Squad Review: 9 Ups & 1 Down

5. The AWESOME Ensemble Cast

James Gunn sure knows how to pick a cast and make the absolute most of them, and without giving away any hints as to who makes it to the end of the movie, these are some of the highlights among the ensemble.

In addition to Idris Elba and Margot Robbie knocking it out of the park, John Cena is perfectly cast as the murderous Captain America-esque Peacemaker, David Dastmalchian is an absolute riot as the sad sack superhero Polka Dot Man, and Sylvester Stallone steals many scenes with his voiceover work for the delightfully stupid man-shark King Shark.

Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, and Jai Courtney are also given ripe opportunities to flesh out their returning characters, and each absolutely rises to the occasion.

This covers just a small fraction of the name actors appearing in the film, but collectively they ensure there's never a dull moment throughout.
