The Worst Part Of The 10 Best MCU Movies
6. Too Many Villains - Spider-Man: No Way Home
A lot of the time, the MCU has struggled to get just one villain in a movie right. With that firm in the minds of fans, there was a worry that when Spider-Man: No Way Home was confirmed to boast no fewer than five bad guys, it would be too much.
The mess of Venom, Sandman, and Harry Osborn’s Green Goblin overstuffing Spider-Man 3 was threatening to rear its ugly head once again. Norman Osborn, Otto Octavius, Max Dillon, Flint Marko, and Curt Connors did unfortunately turn out to be too many.
This didn’t have a huge impact on the movie, as this certainly isn’t as big of a criticism as it was for Spider-Man 3, but three of the returning villains really seemed expendable. Outside of Green Goblin and Doc Ock, the others didn’t need to be there.
It made for a great spectacle in the final battle, but there just wasn’t a story for them. Electro you could argue has the bones of something, being a better version of himself in a different universe, but there wasn’t enough exploration of it. They were essentially just there to make up the numbers, and it showed.
