1. He Became A God Himself

From his less than humble beginnings on a barren, god-fearing planet, Gorr became one of the most powerful beings in the universe. He was the ruler of his own planet, the Black World, his necrosword allowed him long life and abilities few others possessed, and he had an army of slaves doing his bidding.

His wife, though it turned out she was only a construct of the power of the necrosword, called him a god. He was the only one she knew that was worthy of worship, he was her saviour, and the brightest star in all the heavens. He instantly killed her. This, in a way, almost proved her point.

The fact that he could create life so easily put his powers on the same level as many gods, and that he could travel through time and space, live for millennia, and essentially do anything he pleased, including killing, torturing, and enslaving other gods, solidified his new status.

His son, yet another construct of All-Black’s power, grew to hate his father. He had been taught all his life that the gods were to be despised, so when he saw his own father as one he named him Gorr, god of hypocrisy. The irony is just too delicious to ignore.
