Thor: Ragnarok - 10 Big Implications Of Marvel Adding Hulk
3. They Don't Have To Make Planet Hulk...
No matter how many people suggest that the best way to make a Hulk stand-alone movie is to adapt Planet Hulk, it will never be a good idea. It's too much of a creative leap away from the rest of the MCU, which has always been routed in Earth (or at least Earth-like planets). Yes, the story is good (though it's not great by any means), but it's too close in tone to John Carter, and Disney have already failed with that movie because they simply didn't know how to market it. And that was a good movie. The other concern for Planet Hulk is that it would end up being so CGI heavy that we'd end up with another glossy, soulless mess like Green Lantern. So thankfully, the implication of Marvel sending Hulk to space for a DIFFERENT story (or one that cannibalises elements of Planet Hulk but with another established character for balance) is that they're probably not going to do it again for another Hulk movie. And that's a very good thing.
