Thor Ragnarok: 10 Big Questions From What We Know So Far

8. Will It Tie To Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.?

In 2014, Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.€™s season 1 episode Yes Men featured a hefty crossover with the Thor franchise€™s side of the galaxy. Elena Satine (pictured above) played Lorelei, a villainess from Asgard with the power to bend men€™s wills and make them do her bidding. In the episode, Jaimie Alexander€™s Lady Sif was sent to Earth by Odin to capture Lorelei and return her to Asgard. During the episode, Lorelei revealed that she escaped Asgardian captivity via one of Loki€™s secret passages during the prison break of Thor: The Dark World, firmly establishing that Yes Men takes place after the second Thor movie. This left Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans wondering why Loki (in his disguise as Odin) ordered Lady Sif to retrieve Lorelei. Could this lead to an important story strand of Thor: Ragnarok? The ability to control men would certainly be a handy way for Loki to keep control of Asgard. Perhaps he€™s using Lorelei to stop Odin€™s friends and advisors from turning against him or from uncovering his true identity. A few years have passed in the MCU since The Dark World, so it makes sense that Loki would need a little superpowered help to maintain his place on the throne. As you may have already noticed, no character introduced on Marvel€™s flagship TV show has never played this big a part in an MCU movie. Normally, if you start on Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., you're stuck there. There€™s a first time for everything, though.
