Prediction: Dies

Veteran warriors with famed backstories and even more famed exploits have no place in a losing battle. In fact, their deaths usually precede the defeat.

Why?

Volstagg is probably the most expendable of the returning cast members in Thor: Ragnarok, and unfortunately, he represents an easy way of selling Hela's threat in an emotionally relatable way. He's Thor's great friend - almost more of a brother than Loki - and sadly for him, Hela needs victims to make her conquest of Asgard feel like more than an intangible concept.

So we can probably expect Volstagg to fall valiantly - possibly by Hela's own hand - in order to really make Thor feel her victory. He's not the kind of character to willingly bend the knee to her, and he's also not important enough to be exiled like Thor, so it's probably going to be bad news.
