Osgood Perkins' Longlegs is one of the most iconic and successful horror films of the last few years - a supremely atmospheric psychological horror flick led by an unforgettable turn from Nicolas Cage as the titular serial killer.
But considering that - spoiler! - Longlegs dies long before the end of the movie, there wasn't much indication that a sequel would ever materialise, especially with Perkins seeming to favour original projects over franchise work.
Yet this past April, a new Longlegs film was announced with Perkins set to both write and direct, while Cage was also confirmed to return for a January 14, 2028 release.
Longlegs' fate in the first movie makes it highly likely that this new film is a prequel, but honestly, are many folk really desperate to know more about the character's backstory?
