20 Upcoming Movies That Have Made ONE Big Mistake

12. Releasing A Decade Too Late - Ali G: Who Iz I?

It was recently announced that Sacha Baron Cohen has wrapped shooting a new Ali G film in secret, entitled Ali G: Who Iz I?, and the general response online was one of surprise - surprise that Cohen would go back to the Ali G well in 2026.

After all, the first Ali G film - Ali G Indahouse - released way back in 2002 and is a product thoroughly of its time, enough that one can hardly imagine a new Ali G movie making much of an impact in the modern era.

That's without even getting into the fact that the character itself has come under increased scrutiny in recent years, many asserting that Cohen - a well-minted Cambridge graduate - is punching down at working class folk with his satire.

Innumerable think-pieces have already been written about the questionable relevance of Ali G in 2026, and even though Cohen made his Borat revival work back in 2020, it'll be decidedly trickier to deliver a worthy Ali G sequel in the modern era.
