20 Upcoming Movies Facing Huge Issues

There's been a lot of concern about Taika Waititi's upcoming adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro's beloved novel Klara and the Sun, given that it started shooting way back in January 2024 and is only now finally releasing this October, almost three years later.

But even if you can forget the suspiciously long post-production period, the marketing makes it abundantly clear that Waititi has made some serious deviations from Ishiguro's source material.

For one, the overall tone seems decidedly more whimsical here, presumably for cynical commercial reasons, and android Klara (Jenna Ortega) appears to be far more of an adult child than she was in the novel.

Social media is full of posts from fans of the novel who feel that the film has completely misrepresented its mood and title character, ensuring that the movie has a ton of negativity working against it long before anyone has actually seen it for themselves.
