20 Upcoming Movies Facing Huge Issues

In case Disney's industrious commitment to milking their IP dry isn't already painfully apparent, a prequel to 2017's live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast is on the way, centered around its iconic villain Gaston.

And while Gaston was played with sure aplomb by Luke Evans in the 2017 film, it was recently reported that he's since been replaced by Glen Powell.

Powell is certainly a plenty talented actor in his own right, but it's tough to see him as an inherently good fit for Gaston beyond being handsome, charming, and in decent shape.

Rather, it feels like Hollywood is cynically trying to shoehorn him into as many franchises as possible in the hope that something sticks, without really considering whether it actually makes much sense.

This is of course without even broaching the fact that few beyond the most die-hard Beauty and the Beast fans have much interest in a Gaston prequel at all.
