20 Upcoming Movies Facing Huge Issues

Credit where it's due - Greta Gerwig has a strong directorial track record and hasn't steered us wrong yet, but her upcoming Narnia adaptation, Narnia: The Magician's Nephew, represents her boldest and most ambitious cinematic challenge to date.

For one, the film's own cinematographer, Seamus McGarvey, recently revealed that it rocks an eye-wateringly huge budget of $280 million - almost double that of Gerwig's Barbie, making it one of Netflix's most expensive original movies to date.

That alone places a huge weight of expectation on the film to perform well when it releases next year, without even getting into reports that the mixed response to a recent test screening left Netflix ordering a round of reshoots to iron things out.

Now, at this point in time we should all know that reshoots are absolutely par the course for most large-budget blockbuster projects, but with Netflix apparently mandating them, it suggests that Gerwig could perhaps be a little out of her depth with this gargantuan undertaking.
