20 Upcoming Movies That Just Got Cancelled

Back in June, The Matrix filmmaker Lilly Wachowski announced her next project - a dystopian political thriller called The Hunted, set to be co-produced by Natasha Lyonne.

The film has been described as being in the vein of V for Vendetta, set in a dystopian America where two trans women seek out the perpetrator of a horrific crime in their community, leading them to the upper echelons of government.

However as of August, Wachowski revealed that the film has stalled due to her inability to secure the $10 million budget, which she blames on Hollywood's refusal to finance a film with a "wall-to-wall trans cast."

Wachowski lamented the present political climate making it especially difficult for such a film to get made, before revealing that she's attempting to get the story in front of people in other ways.

This included a recent live table read of the script in Los Angeles, but in terms of feature film prospects, it doesn't seem like The Hunted will ever go before cameras.
