7. Logan Marshall-Green's Impressively Physical Performance
Though Logan Marshall-Green is derisively referred to by many as "dimestore Tom Hardy", he unquestionably shakes off that cheeky label with his terrific performance as Grey.
While it would've been easy for the actor to merely give an adequate yet forgettable performance while taking a backseat to the loony premise, Marshall-Green's turn is both uniquely physical and surprisingly empathetic.
For starters, when Grey is paralysed at the start of the movie, Marshall-Green makes the existential anguish feel intensely real, and once he's fitted with the STEM implant and starts kicking a**, he makes every movement look distinctly detached and robotic.
As Grey performs STEM-assisted beatdowns to his various assailants throughout the film, the actor sells Grey's stunned incredulity perfectly, depicting a man at war with his own body. Rather than merely slaughter fleets of enemies relentlessly, there's a stiffness to his movement which elevates the premise considerably.
So, yes, everyone should probably stop comparing him to Tom Hardy now, because he's clearly a skilled performer in his own right.
