Venom 2: 8 Directors Sony Should Hire

What better way for Sony to bring this whole thing full circle than to get the man who started it all back?

In the early 2000s, Raimi became a household name and one of the most commanding forces in Hollywood because of his incredible original Spider-Man films, which lit up the box office across the globe and garnered him tons of praise. But long before any of that, Raimi was a cult horror icon for his indulgent and frequently hysterical horror films, specifically, the Evil Dead trilogy.

While those films were in the '80s, as recently as just ten years ago Raimi proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was more than capable of still channeling that same level of horror and humor with Drag Me to Hell. Thus, Raimi is a director who has the exceedingly unique qualifications of both being the originating voice of how to properly convey Spider-Man comic books to the big screen and of being a flat-out master of the grisly-monster-movie genre.

This would also give Raimi a second shot at Venom after Spider-Man 3, a portrayal that even Raimi himself has admitted to being less than happy with due to how crowded the film was. If Raimi were to focus solely on crafting a Venom film, it could be something truly incredible.
