Venom: 9 Most Hilariously Awful Moments

1. The Absurd End Credits Sequence

And finally, even Venom's end credits sequence sadly isn't free of derision, and honestly, it might be the most bizarre closing credits of any blockbuster movie in recent memory.

For starters, it kicks off with a wince-inducing title song performed by Eminem - yet another relic of the early 2000s - before launching into a comically sequel-baiting tag introducing Cletus Kasady, as played by Woody Harrelson in an awful, guffaw-inducing wig.

And depressing it is that the best part of the entire movie is in fact the "post-credits scene" - if you can really call it that - which turns out to be a four-minute sequence from Sony's upcoming animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. It looks terrific, and shames practically everything actually in this film.

But the most absurd fact of all? The entire end credits sequence lasts a mind-boggling 20 minutes, as though Sony was concerned about the negative reaction to a 95-100 minute superhero film and decided to make the credits soul-destroyingly long in order to compensate.
