Walt Disney World's TRON Lightcycle/Run Review: 6 Things You Need To Know
3. The Ride Vehicle
TRON: Lightcycle/Run ride vehicle is like nothing you've ever experienced before with the majority of the seats similar to motorbike seats.
Guests need to sit on the lightcycles, get themselves in a kneeling position and pull the handlebars towards them to lock themselves in. Those who are unable to board the lightcycles do still have the opportunity to ride as the trains do have regular coaster seats at the rear.
There are no seatbelts to strap you in and the back pad isn't pushing down on your back like you might expect. There is a bar that closes behind your calves but you don't feel like anything around your upper body is locking you in place, really adding to the thrill of the attraction.
There have been reports by some guests that the calf restraint does cause issues for guests with larger body proportions. Disney have provided test seats outside so you can test these before you ride, so you know if you'll find it more comfortable to ride in the rear seats.
If you're prefer feeling really snug on a coaster, TRON Lightcycle/Run will take a little getting used to, but once you do, you might never want to go back to a regular coaster again.
